Sarhad will organize a 5-day film festival from June 11

Srinagar, May 21: Sarhad, a Pune-based organization is organizing a 5-day film festival starting June 11.

The opening ceremony will be held on the 11th evening at SM Joshi Auditorium in Pune. Film screenings on the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th will take place in the auditorium of the National Film Archive of India (NFAI) and the closing ceremony will take place at Anna BhauSatheSabhagraha, Pune.

Films of all genres and music videos will be included in the festival. Sarhad has already received 51 films/music videos and expects more films and music videos in the coming days.

Apart from feature films, short films, short documentaries and music videos submitted by producers for competition and out of competition sections, popular Hindi feature films of yesteryear like Mainzraat, Kashmir Ki Kali, Arzoo, Do Badan, Aap Ki Kasam, Bobby, Junglee, Jab JabPhool Khile, Roti, Kabhie Kabhie, Betaab, etc. will also be screened at the festival.

The director of this festival is Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan who is a dedicated cultural and film activist from Kashmir. Mushtaaque is founder and director of the “Kashmir World Film Festival” – a first of its kind and scale in Srinagar, Kashmir. He is also president of Actors’ Creative Theater (ACT), an organization active in the field of art, culture, film and literature, since 1976.

The festival aims to provide a platform for all J&K filmmakers, especially young and amateur ones. The festival also aims to present the culture, lifestyle, development and other stories of all regions of J&K, through films.
