CHENNAI: A mobile application for traffic police to track the ambulance and provide traffic clearance facilitating easier and faster movement of the ambulance was launched here on Sunday. This is reportedly made possible by mSirenPilot, a GPS-enabled emergency ambulance tracker for the traffic police in Chennai.
The mSirenPilot was launched by Gleneagles Global Health City which uses state-of-the-art technology to help hospitals and traffic police monitor the movement of ambulances when transporting patients.
The app was launched on Sunday by actor Yogi Babu in the presence of Dr Alok Khullar, CEO and Dr Sriram R, HOD – Senior Consultant, Accident Department – Emergencies of Gleneagles Global Health City.
The mSirenPilot app also offers a free mobile app powered by the world’s first “Smart Siren Technology”, which allows drivers and traffic officers to proactively create a green corridor and assist emergency ambulances in move faster in traffic.
“The delay in the treatment of critical patients worsens the treatment outcome. The golden hour is the first 60 minutes of a patient’s life where the patient can be saved if the right treatment is provided. Our emergency team can effectively follow up and coordinate with the ambulance to improve the treatment provided,” said Dr Sriram R, HOD – Senior Consultant – Accident Department – Emergencies, Gleneagles Global Health City.
As a large number of deaths are lost due to delayed treatment, mainly because the patient is not brought in during “Golden hour”, the app aims to speed up the process. “With the launch of mSirenPilot – An Intelligent Ambulance Platform, support is being extended for patients to interact with the hospital’s emergency response team more effectively and efficiently for better results,” said Dr. Alok Khullar, CEO of Gleneagles Global Health City.
