CJI releases Mahatma’s autobiography in Telugu

Chief Justice of India NV Ramana here on Friday published a book ‘Satya Sodhana’, a Telugu Translation from Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography “The Story of My Experiences with Truth”, published by Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.

Speaking on the opportunitysaid the chief justice of an ordinary man, Gandhi became a mahatma by leading the struggle for freedom on a non-violent path.

“All over the world there have been many movements and struggles. Most of them were violent, but Gandhi showed the world a new way through non-violent struggle,” Judge Ramana said.

Many followed the path of non-violence and led new struggles, he added.

He said Gandhi visited Tirupati twice in 1921 and 1933.

It was commendable that Gandhi’s autobiography was published in Telugu to make future generations aware of his greatness and simplicity, he said.

MP Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, Managing Director of Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (Head) Dharma Reddy, Collector M Hari Narayanan from Chittoor District, Collector KV Ramana Reddy from Tirupati District and others attended the event.
