Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan is known for speaking her mind and in doing so, she sometimes makes controversial and insensitive remarks towards celebrities. As we talk about this, we remembered that once Jaya called Shah Rukh Khan’s movie “Happy New Year” the most absurd movie and mentioned that she watched it only because of her son Abhishek Bachchan. Speaking at the Mumbai Literature Festival during its session ‘Literature’s Failure to Inform Current Cinema’, Jaya said she spoke to producers and key players about her review of the film.
Jaya then revealed that even the Dilwale actor gave her a witty response stating that her film is no more absurd than Amar Akbar Anthony. “He was so quick…an amazing man. He said, “Tata Jaya, no more absurd than Amar Akbar Anthony”. I said it could be fun. Amar Akbar Anthony is a movie I love to watch… if you want to laugh, you don’t take home what you saw in the cinema,” Jaya added.
According to reports, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai had apologized to Shah Rukh because of Jaya’s comment, but he did not forgive them. However, SRK at the time denied all such reports and tweeted, “I haven’t read a more shitty and made up piece of journalism lately.”
Meanwhile, Jaya Bachchan recently made headlines for getting angry and yelling at the paparazzi for clicking her photos on different occasions.
