The 12th edition of the Bengaluru International Short Film Festival will be held in a hybrid format

The 12th edition of the Bengaluru International Short Film Festival (BISFF) is being held in a hybrid format from August 4-14. Films screened online can be viewed, while the physical event will take place from August 11-14.

The BISFF is an official qualifying film festival for the live-action category by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

Apart from Indian and International competition sections, the categories of the festival include Karnataka competition, Animation competition, Let’s Include – An Inclusion section, Women’s Cinema Collective (WCC) and an out of competition section.

The Indian Competition section includes A Box Of Cuban Cigars by Soumadeep Sen, Cycle by Devashish Makhija, Goshta Arjunchi by Anupam Barve, Kiss by Varun Grover, The Horse From Heaven by Maharshi Kashyap, among others.

The Womens’ Cinema Collective, which showcases films directed by women, includes Dead End by Trupti Kulkarni, Kukbi by Karuna Vishwanath, Raavi by Jasmine Kaur Roy, The Cardamom by Shikha Mahajan and The Wait by Prarthana Goswami, among others.

In addition to the screenings, there will be masterclasses and conferences organized at the festival. A daily report Deccan Herald said a lecture on literature in film will be held, as well as a masterclass on blocking for the camera by Balaji Manohar.
